Having emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses and individuals were taking tentative steps to rebuild lives and livelihoods against a background of huge government borrowing, with supply chain shortages and increasing food prices especially causing concern. Now we are facing a whole new set of pressures caused by war in Europe: spiralling inflation stoked by sky high rises in fuel and energy prices. The knock on effects of these include continued hikes in food prices, and interest rates accelerating at the fastest rate since 2008.

At Resonance, there is a Cost of Living Working Group. They have been collating information from tenants, staff and social enterprises and discussing the ways in which they might be able to offer some support. Here is a hub with cost-of-living resources for social enterprises.
