DESCRIPTION:Join Voluntary Norfolk for an informal Lunch and Learn session with Jo and Lauren from Feathers Futures to hear about their experiences of gaining the accreditation\, their reasons for going through the process and the benefits and advantages of gaining the accreditation. \nFeathers Futures is a women’s charity established in 2018 to create a safe\, welcoming space where women can seek support early\, in a way that is accessible\, flexible and responsive to individual need. They offer a warm\, friendly space where women feel welcome from the moment they walk in. They support women to build a brighter\, more positive future. \nWe will also welcome Sandra from Investing in Volunteers at the start of the session to share a bit more about what the Investing in Volunteers accreditation is. \nInvesting in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. \nIf you want to assess the quality of your volunteer management and involvement\, prove and improve the effectiveness of your work with volunteers\, and enhance your organisation’s reputation\, IiV provides the ideal framework. SUMMARY:Norfolk Small Charities Showcase 2026
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 4th year\, the Norfolk Small Charities Showcase celebrates and promotes community organisations (with an annual income of under £250\,000) and provides an opportunity to raise awareness of your services\, attract new volunteers or investment in one of the county’s most iconic venues with high public footfall. \n\n\n\nHosted\, and funded\, by The Kearns Foundation the event has two parts. \nPart 1 – A public exhibition\, on the ground floor Atrium of the iconic Forum building in Norwich city centre where Norfolk serving small charities can raise awareness of the services they offer\, attract new volunteers or investment whilst also networking with other small local organisations to share ideas and learn from each other. \nStalls in the exhibition are free of charge to small Norfolk serving community organisations (subject to a refundable £20 deposit) Stalls are limited to 30 organisations and must be pre-booked. To request a space\, purchase a £20 stallholder ticket below. Your fee will be refunded if you attend and your stall is operational between 9.30am and 3.30pm. \nPart 2 – a series of short\, free to attend workshops providing information and advice to small community groups. \nAttendance at the skills workshops are open to anyone working or volunteering in any Norfolk serving community organisation\, irrespective of their annual income\, and are also free to attend\, but require pre-booking as they have a limited capacity. \nWorkshop 1 – Working in partnership with businesses – (10.30am to 11.30am in The View). This workshop will explore the opportunities for small to medium sized charities working with businesses in Norfolk. It will be based on finding mutual benefits for all parties through the use of corporate volunteering\, sponsorship\, shared facilities and fundraising. Examples of partnerships with Aviva\, Norfolk Skills Exchange and Norfolk Chambers of Commerce will be shared. \nWorkshop 2 – Safeguarding – beyond raising the concern (11.45am – 12.45pm in The View).
